We Offer Family Counseling and Education at New Beginnings
New Beginnings at Waverly Family Program
When and where?
- Patients and/or family typically attend family programming during the second week of the patient’s stay in treatment with some exceptions due to the volume of patients and a family’s ability to participate. We prefer to have all family members attend on the same day(s).
- Family program runs Monday through Wednesday from 8:45 am – 4:00 pm. All families are required to check in at the main site located at 109 North Shore Drive in Waverly. All families then attend the morning lecture and family education on the main campus.
- Families of female patients will be at the main campus from 9:00-12:00 am for the lecture and morning education and then will drive to the Women’s lodge for lunch and the remainder of the programming. (If you are unable to attend the entire day and want to come for the afternoon portion, you do not have to go to the main campus to check-in. You may check-in at the Women’s lodge.)
Who can attend the family program?
Any family members that have been impacted by the patient’s chemical use are encouraged to attend. However, no child under the age of 12 may attend. Family members between the ages of 12 and 18 must have adult supervision. For safety, we ask that family members do not participate if under the influence of mood-altering chemicals. We reserve the right to provide breathalyzers or UAs to family members that appear intoxicated.
Cost & What You Need To Bring:
- There is a fee of $25 per person attending with a maximum of $100 per family.
- You will need to bring a written letter no more than 1-2 pages in length stating how the chemical use of has impacted your life and relationship. Please be specific.
Please Remember: NO CELL PHONE USE IN OUR FACILITIES
This is to protect patient confidentiality against the potential misuse/abuse of recording technology including audio and film. We thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.
